Winner of West Country Women Awards.

Fiona Mahoney announced as Winner of West Country Women Awards for the Community Award 2025.

Reminiscence Learning is delighted to announce that Chief Executive, Fiona Mahoney, has been awarded the Community Award at the prestigious West Country Women Awards, held at the Crowne Plaza in Plymouth on Friday 28th November.

Selected from 48 outstanding applications, Fiona received the award in recognition of the charity’s exceptional commitment to improving the lives of individuals living with dementia and their family carers across Somerset and beyond. The Community Award celebrates women who make a profound and positive difference in their local communities - an accolade Fiona embodies through leadership, innovation, and tireless advocacy.

Reminiscence Learning has become a powerful lifeline for people living with dementia and memory difficulties, as well as their families and carers. Through the development of innovative community programmes, creative therapeutic initiatives, and impactful national awareness-raising campaigns such as the Archie Project, Reminiscence Learning has helped to strengthen understanding and support for dementia across the UK.

Her work has also been instrumental in securing significant funding that has enabled the charity to expand its services, reach more communities, and create more inclusive, supportive environments for those who need it most.

Speaking after receiving the award, Fiona Mahoney said:

“Thank you to everyone who has supported Reminiscence Learning and for recognising our work with this award. I’m so proud of my team, every step we have taken has been a true team effort, and their hard work and dedication are inspiring. Together, we’re committed to offering compassionate community services and support to people living with dementia and their family carers.”
